You are finishing your studies and are either looking for employment or continuing on to Postgraduate studies. Here are a few things to think about before your Graduation Ceremony.
Looking for work – have you spoken to a Careers Adviser?
Postgraduate studies- have you looked into bursaries and scholarships? If you are thinking about continuing at the University of South Wales have a look at our Postgraduate Scholarships. If you are going to study at a new university make sure you look into the scholarships and bursaries they have to offer. There are also other funding options that are available, do some research and see if you are eligible for any additional funding.
Student Loan Repayment – The Student Loan Company will contact you after you have left university – usually the following April. Once you are earning over the required amount the repayment will be taken from your wages automatically.
Moving on – leaving your student accommodation
- Make sure you get your bond back
- Check the inventory, repair any damages.
- Scrub the place clean
- Submit actual meter readings for gas, electric and water
- See if you are entitled to a refund for your TV licence

Student overdraft – Speak you your bank about repaying your overdraft. You could ask for an interest free period following graduation, or switch to a Graduate Account.
